Mario Menjivar


Mario has worked in the animation industry for 17 years, most of them as part of the Walt Disney Feature Animation studio. His work is featured in six of the studio’s films, among them: “Lion King,” “Pocahantas” and “Tarzan.” His work can also be seen the Warner Bros.’ film “Looney Tunes: Back in Action.”


He served as Art Director for the independent CG feature “The Spirit Bear” and for Sprite Animation Studios, for a feature film based on the adventures of the beloved Japanese comic book dinosaur, Gon.
As a designer and illustrator, his work can be seen in the form of Disney merchandise and most recently completed two Scooby Doo covers for DC Comics.
Mario is currently a freelance artist and designer. He lives in New York City with his wife, the writer Rosemary Riviera, and their son Tyler.
